Why Happy Hollows Spring Water?

I have been spoiled until recently with fluoride free city water here in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas where I live. Unfortunately, that is about to end. Act 197 is about to be enacted in Hot Springs.

"Act 197 of 2011 currently requires any water system in the state serving 5,000 people or more to set a fluoride level within the minimum and maximum levels recommended by the Health Department. So much time has passed many of us in town now are seemingly caught unaware because we don't attend the government hearings each month, but it is now upon us. Starting January 1st there will be fluoride added to our city water.

Here in Hot Springs, residents and visitors alike have a very special amenity available to us. Free water is available to anyone  who wants to go downtown to one of the several springs publicly available and fill up a jug or bottle. I first started getting the free spring water years ago before I ever lived in Hot Springs. Friends of mine and I would make a pilgrimage once a month or so with milk crates full of old gallon milk jugs and fill up with the free water. Back then I just thought it was cool. Or rather hot, since the water coming from most of the springs is HOT spring water.

After I moved here with the thought of the recently passed Act 197 on  my mind I checked with the water company and found that Hot Springs still had no added fluoride in the city water. Later I found that you can get a water report much like the one your city water company mails out annually, concerning the contents of the springs water here in Hot Springs as well, available from the Visitor Center downtown.  It turns out that each Springs is quite different, and after reviewing the information I decided that I preferred the cold spring at Happy Hollow. Mainly because while the springs do not have added fluoride, the hot springs do contain a measure of fluoride. I assume that it is naturally occurring, though I still don't want any. Thank you but, NO.

I now own four refillable 5 gallon jugs and a water dispenser that I keep stocked with Happy Hollow Spring water. I love the taste and I am so glad there is neither fluoride or any other added chemicals! Since I don't have a car sometimes I run out and am forced to use the city water. Because of this until recently I have cooked with the tap water. No more. Especially since I found out that heating the water actually makes the fluoride concentration HIGHER! Fluoride is a toxic waste byproduct of the phosphate mining industry. Back in 1940 something a great SCAM was perpetrated on the American people when in cahoots with the American Dental Association it was decided that dumping this stuff into our water supply might be a great way to get rid of it.

"In 1945, Grand Rapids, Michigan, adjusted the fluoride content of its water supply to 1.0 ppm and thus became the first city to implement community water fluoridation. It is said to be a medicine, for the purpose of preventing cavities, which is hilarious since its main side effect is dental and bone fluorosis which is a weakening of the bone and tooth enamel first visible by white spots on the teeth. Under the 4th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States and the Nuremburg Code it is both illegal and immoral to medicate people without their express Informed Consent.

Since I have no personal power to do anything about it the best I can do right now is to diligently tell people about it, spread the word, and use Happy Hollow Spring Water in my cooking and for drinking. I hate that I have no choice but to shower and wash my clothes and dishes in the toxic stuff.

As a form of protest I would like to encourage Hot Springs National Park residents on city water to turn off their water on January 1st. If a significant number of city water customers refuse to purchase water for an entire day, the city will feel it. I plan to do it. I will turn off my ice maker, I will abstain from showering or washing dishes for just one day. I will make sure I have plenty of fresh Happy Hollow spring water available for drinking, cooking, and flushing the toilet. For one day we will practice not flushing unless necessary.
